So what is Sun Trash? Well, let me try and shed some light... About a year and a half ago my other band, Throw Rag, slowed way down. So I took that time to start recording songs with some new friends that I'd met while touring. The first song I recorded was with J.Devil of Eagles of Death Metal and his mom in his apartment in Palm Desert, it was a tune called "White Cowboy Boots" that I'd wrote in Canada while on tour with Queens of the Stone Age. I kept calling people up to jam and now I've got a couple albums worth of material… all the guys from QOTSA, EODM, a couple of The Bronx, Zander Schloss from the Circle Jerks/Die Hunns, Sasha of the Mad Caddies, Petra Hayden, Eddie Nappi of Enemy, Mark Lanegan, Chris Goss and then some.
The tunes are all over the place and were usually written on the spot. I've got lyrics with me, we hit record and jam, it's music for the love of music, not too thought out and free of obligation, just fun. It's been a privilege to create with all these guys and like my man Robin from RATT said "rock n' roll ain't the Olympics, there's room in it for everyone" well, in Sun Trash's case it may be closer to the Special Olympics, but that's fine, we do it cause we love to.
