Isaac Rother & the Phantoms
Isaac Rother & The Phantoms call back to an era where rock n' roll was simple and dangerous. The voodoo magic of early rock n' rollers such as Bo Diddley and Screaming Jay Hawkins is seamlessly fused with tough 60's groups like the Animals and the tongue in cheek humor of classic novelty hits like Wooly Bully and Surfin' Bird. Today, with the world of music literally at our fingertips, the camp and ritual of rock n' roll has almost been forgotten, residing mainly in the stories and recordings of the past. Isaac Rother and the Phantoms bring back the golden mystic of this past. They do so with top notch musicianship and hard rockin' original material, rendering them a cut above the rest. Behold… The Unspeakable Horror of Isaac Rother & The Phantoms!

"Isaac Rother is an imposing figure. On stage, he commands a unique and mystifying attention from the audience as the Phantom and his band revive the sounds of rock n roll's nativity in a majestic and awe-inspiring sonic assault. With all the intensity of punk rock and the heart and soul of what first made rock n roll such an exciting movement, Issac Rother & The Phantoms are here to frighten mere mortals with a formidable groove and terrifying ferocity, reminding us all that rock will never die – like the host of the undead, The Phantoms won't stop until they've conquered the world." - Jake Hook, The Alternative Review

"Isaac Rother & The Phantoms may be gearing up to release their debut album, but they're certainly not from this decade. Fronted by lead ghoul, Mr. Rother himself, the Los Angeles-based outfit pool musical influences like the Stooges and Screamin' Jay Hawkins with a love of horror and B-movies to create a sort of gothic doo wop sound that lies somewhere between rock, punk and soul." - PureVolume

"It's farcical theater and greasy retro rock 'n' roll mixed together in a cauldron and served up with a grin and a wink. No mopey indie rock here, thank God! It's nice to see an Angeleno mining such fertile and underrepresented territory." - Jason Gelt, LA Record
Surf rock and roll, with it's rich history and distinct rhythm and tonal qualities, might be the most uniquely Southern Californian contribution to the musical lexicon. Yet in it's place of birth, there seem to be few bands interested in taking the challenge of living up to the exciting sonic legacy of the genre's pioneers.

However, in recent years, the South Bay trio, Bombón, not only seem interested in picking up the torch of this tremendously influential musical style, they also appear bent on pushing it well past it's traditional boundaries. Founded in San Pedro in 2009, the three ladies behind the band, Angela Ramos, Paloma
Bañuelos, and Jerico Campbell, have been working hard ever since to deliver their gospel of old style surf rock blended with '60s garage rock and DIY punk rock attitude far and wide. The last five years have seen the girls release an EP on Burger Records and an LP on 45 RPM Records. In addition, they perform prolifically locally, and have toured nationally alongside highly regarded Alabama ghost country performers, The Pine Hill Haints.

The band has also been featured in Razorcake Magazine, where they were described as, "A band that works on vastly different levels, yet comes together in a completely harmonious way," and the LA Record, who said that they, "Ride the line between the charm of Beach Blanket Bingo and the soundtrack that might accompany Link Wray surfing on a coffin."

Looking toward the future, the girls have a 7" on Ghoulhouse Records, a cassette on Burger Records, and a new full length on Arkam Records in the works, as well as slot on the bill of Burger's hotly anticipated Burger-A-Go-Go Festival followed by a jaunt up the West Coast with old partners in crime, The Pine Hill Haints. To say that Bombón has big plans for the rest of the year is an understatement, these girls are plotting a take over. If you've yet to bear witness to glory of the lovely Las Chicas Del Bombón, don't worry, your future is filled with plenty of opportunities.
